Anson's mission came to a sudden early halt on May 30, 2023. While driving to a activity around 8:00 pm on Chuck a nut road with his zone leader Elder Griffiths, he ran a stop sign and was struck by a double tanker semi milk truck.
He was life flighted up to Bellingham, WA to St Josephs Peace Health hospital. He sustained many injuries and the church flew Aaron and I up to Seattle early the next morning where the AP's were waiting for us at the airport and drove us up to Bellingham. Anson was not awake when we got there. He was sedated
His injuries included:
3 fractures to his pelvis, also a fracture to his sacrum.
lung contusions
C1 fracture to his neck
3 different brain bleeds
His legs and arms were just fine. Also no stitches. He had alot of scratches from the glass. He also had gash on his torso from the seatbelt. He was very blessed to be alive and through the whole process we saw NUMEROUS miracles. The church also paid for our hotel and after 2 days we decided for Aaron to fly back home to be with our other kids and I would stay in WA with Anson. He was in the ICU for 4 days and our total hospital stay was 2 weeks. The road to recovery was going to be a long road....
this is Sarah his ICU nurse and she was AMAZING
