Seattle temple trip

 Hey guys, another week another day!

Honestly I dont remember much from this week.  Missionary work has and is tiring.  So this will be a short one. 

 

After the blessing we gave over the phone to Kristina, she has definitely changed.  She is MUCH more happy and less stressed about life.  She has a lot on her plate so this was much needed. 

We asked Tammy if she would like to learn about our church. She told us that she is looking for a church that is very welcoming and also like a family.  We will be going back on Wednesday to talk about our church. 

Last week we went to the Bellvue temple and it was nice to do baptisms since the last time was like 2018-2019ish.  We went with some people in the ward and one of them took her brothers name.  Right after confirmations she said she felt her brother accept the gospel.  Not gonna lie but thats pretty cool!!

Random thought: I saw a dead mole last week. I've never seen a mole until then. Cool . . . now I've seen one.

Spiritual thought: Jesus loves you.  Thats it. Dont ever forget that.  lol

 Whats up people!!!!

Another week another day. I cant believe ive already been out for a little more than a month.  Anyways, time for a rundown of what's been going on lately.

Last week we went back to Tammy's and taught them more about Jesus Christ and how we can be more like him.  We have plans to return some time in the next week and she is totally cool with us coming back.

We made a new friend and her name is Sus.  Yeah thats right S.U.S. lol. Its pronounced S-oo-s. Anyways, shes a danish lady and she is very sweet.  Kinda like younger on the inside.  She even likes birds!!  Her backyard is heaven for me, it outlooks there property downward into a open field with a vast majority of different kinds of wildlife.  Especially different kinds of birds.  Gah I wish I took pictures.  Sus even has 2 aviaries in her backyard, one has doves and the other has parakeets and cockatiels.  Once again Ii was heaven for me.  I gave one of her cockatiels some head and neck massages and she was like "Oh my GOSH how did you do that!!" Both of the teils are rescues so they aren't exactly tame.  What can I say, I'm the bird whisperer.  Sus is asking us lots of questions about the church and we will be going back to do some service and chat.

Kristina got back from driving from Arizona with her new RV.  We talked with her over the phone and she told us the moment she got home life went all crappy again.  Shes been through a TON in her life so its hard for her.  Elder Lessig and I talked with her about the priesthood and priesthood blessings.  We did the most unexpected thing, we gave her a blessing over the phone!! Yeah that's right, over the phone.  Throughout her life she has struggled to feel the spirit and after the blessing she said she heard a humming in her ears that was calming.  People feel the spirit in different ways.  

Random thought: We drove out to Lake Roesiger one night and it was gorgeous. There is just all houses along the border of it and Im pretty sure there is no place to evendrop a boat in it.  I hope we can go back .

Spiritual thought: Matthew 28:6: "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay." Yesterday we celebrated Easter because he has risen. And because he has been risen, we can be resurrected and live with our families forever.

Best week so far!!

 Hello everyone!!

This week has been the best week yet on the mission!!  Things have finally been starting to start up. I mean by this area in general has just been so hard for awhile (this area is known as a big service area).  I'm hoping the ball continues to roll.  

Elder Lessig and I were tracting and the 3rd house into this neighborhood, a lady answers the door. She invited her 7 year old daughter to hear our message and they also invited us in.  They are looking for a religion so that's a good start.  Anyways, we taught them about who Jesus Christ is and what he did from the new testament.  I was like "What is happining?!"    It was just so cool to be apart of that and they said they would love for us to come back. So we are tomorrow.  

We made 2 more friends who are an older married couple.  Even if they don't get baptized I would still like to visit them after the mission.  They are so dope.  They invited us over for a steak dinner and we talked about life in general but also about the Book of Mormon.  We will be going back to their house so hopefully we can get the ball rollin there.  

Kristina is doing good.  We've had some good discussions with her and she has expressed how thankful she is for us a lot.  She now wants to pray with us for nightly prayers over the phone so that's huge.

On Friday we did exchanges with the spanish elders. I was comps with Elder Zach Sorenson who I actually know from school and soccer, so that was cool.

week 5

Whats up guys!! 

Sorry about last week.

            We did a hike as a district and it went way over time. But it was definitely worth it.            

Its always up and down in terms of missionary work over here in Machias. Its definitely picking up though since Elder Lessig and I finally finished lists of part member and inactive families in the ward.  Last week we met this guy named Glenn and his wife, they are super cool and I hope we can get a ball rollin with them.  

2 P-days ago we went to this cool pizza place thats kinda like a bar I guess.  That place is definitely a must go back to. Its got that vibe and I love it. 

Also last week, I finally found a salamander!!  We were doing service for some members and Elder Lessig comes up to me and just straight up drops it into my hands.  Apparently he startled it with a rake accidently since we were raking tons of leaves.  Because of that it released a toxin and thank goodness we didn't touch it with our bare hands.  

What did y'all think of general conference?! It was pretty good not gonna lie. There were some pretty hard core talks like Elder Oaks.  But it's amazing how the first few were about missionary work.

Kristina is still a work in progress.  It's slow but it's steady.  She is so fun to be around, and Elder Lessig and I know we are meant to be there for her.  Her main obstacle she gives us is why does God let bad things happen to good people.  Hopefully we can help her in a more direct way.

Random thought: My dad sent me a bluetooth keyboard.  Now I actually want to type out longer emails lol.

small mishap

 March 31st 

Got a call from Anson this morning asking about some insurance info....?    Apparently he was doing some service and loading a truck load of big logs into a members truck.  As far as I understand.....One log, fell over smashing Ansons left hand and pinning him against the truck.  He said it was very painful.  He turned white and got sick to his stomach for a bit.

Elder Lessig got him free, gave him a blessing, then took him to the local clinic.  The Dr took some x-rays and found no broken bones, just pinched pretty good.  Luckily he had big gloves on. He just needs to ice it and take ibuprofen for a few days
