Farewell Pres Auna

Hello everyone sorry about last week. I have been getting everyone's email who has sent me one and I promise I WILL respond.  Im ok now in terms of missing my trainer.  Guess it takes some time to adjust to change out on the mission even when i get a new comp.

Honestly I cant remember what I said in my last email so there might be some repeats.  Kristina and Sus have been reading the Book of Mormon on their own so thats a big step!! Also turns out Larry hasn't been reading the Book of Mormon so thats a big sad face:(.  With Glenn and Candy they are interested in a chapel tour so we plan on getting that set up.

Last week on June 22nd we had a combined zone conference to say goodbye to President and Sister Auna. Im pretty sure all the missionaries bore their testimonies.  I bore my testimony on showing love and kindness and trusting the lord.  Lets just say it got really emotional and also while we each said goodbye to them individually.

I'm gonna miss them.  Sister Auna is the sweetest person I've ever met.  I've said that a lot about so many people but she is for sure at the top.  President Auna is a very christ-like person. He's for sure taught me multiple things about being a good missionary and priesthood holder.

I got to see Elder Lessig at the meeting so that was awesome.

President and Sister Oaks will be here on Thursday I think.  This Saturday we will have 2 half of the mission zone conferences.  Thats gonna be a lot of missionaries.

Random thought: Its really hot here right now. I forgot how hot it can be especially me living in Utah heat.

Spiritual thought: Moroni 7:47: "But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him."

Charity is, in my view, one of the greatest things we can apply to ourselves.  Something I've noticed is when people see how we show charity, they express their gratitude for our acts.  Results from this are a feeling that is very Christ-like. That feeling is love.
Love in a way how we show someone how much we care about them because they are God's children
Love you all and have a great week!!

tender merices

Anson has not slept a full night since arriving in Snohomish ( 3 months).  The bed he was given to sleep on was not kind to his back and we woke up sore every morning.  I could see he was not getting enough sleep.

I mentioned this to a very kind member lady named Wendy Ogden who would send me pics when she had the missionaries over for dinner.  She has a special place in her heart for Anson and got right on it.

She pulled up the Buy Nothing group on FB that she is a member of and up popped a gently used twin mattress!!  She asked for the mattress and was chosen by the giver!  They shoved it in the back of Ansons car and he took it home!  He has been sleeping ALOT better on this mattress.

Before that we had sent him 2 different mattress toppers to try that didn't work.

Its little tender mercies that Im thankful for!  The members in WA have been so incredible caring and loving.  They have taken such good care of the missionaries that it really helps ease my heart as a parent.

Also want to put here that the Jones family, who he ate with every Monday, came to UT for a family reunion and stopped by our house to say hello!  It was so great to meet all the kids and they got to play with Anson's bird and see his dog and where he lived.  I took them all out for a sno cone.  This family is Anson's favorite and he misses them already!

missing Lessig

 Hey everyone!

Sorry its been so long.  I keep forgetting about emailing weekly.  Anyways, these past few weeks have been some of the worst but there have been some highs.

First thing, Elder Lessig got transferred and I stayed in Machias.  Just to note, I am extremely saddened about this. I've felt depressed and just not myself recently.  It has gotten a little bit better though.  The second day with my new comp, I went out to the car and just had a complete meltdown as I was talking with my family.  I've been stressed out since transfers, so yeah theres that.  My new comps name is Elder Lusk.  He's very chill and a nice person, but it'll take time to get use to.

Not much has been going on here since I've gotten off the usual missionary schedule.  The only highlight since my last email was when we visited Sus last week.  Right when we started reading Genesis 3 her daughter called and said there is a bird in the garage. So Sus had to go get it out.

Then out of nowhere she came back with her danish Book of Mormon. Whats interesting is that earlier that day I was thinking of asking her if she could read 2 Nephi 2:25 out of her Book of Mormon since it connects with the fall of Adam and Eve.  She read it and really liked. But even better she was reading ahead in the Book of Mormon during the lesson, lol.

Random thought: Based off my observations, people up here really like Chevrolet and Subaru. Mainly Corvettes. I love it

Spiritual thought: Last week I got a random message from an Elder that I came out with.  He told me that he had a feeling to message me that day and cheer me up and also he reminded me of how great of a missionary I am.  I would just like to say that God is looking out for us and he feels our sorrows. Never forget that

Have a great week everyone!!

goodby Elder Lessig

This transfer, Anson's trainer Elder Lessig got transferred!  After 3 months together in Snohomish....... Its a very sad week..

facebook post:

"My training out in the mission has come to an end. I couldn't have asked for a better trainer, friend, and someone who always puts a smile on my face. Zach Lessig, thank you for all the awesome memories!! Now there are other people who need to feel the light of christ that only you can give them. Hope we meet again out on the mission 😉"

May 2022

The bishop of our ward here in Lehi is John Laffrey.  He pulled Aaron aside one Sunday and told him he just wanted us to know that Anson is having an impact on the youth in the ward.

He said that he has had a couple of boys tell him through their conversations together,  that         " if Anson can do it, I can too".  and  "I want what Anson has".

This has really touched Aaron and I as his parents.  We have seen so many miracles during the process of his mission, and it fills my heart up with joy that other people are seeing it too!

Truly amazing!!!   LOVE this kid so much!!
