HUMP DAY! Anson has hit his one year mark! He loves his new area.
Hello everyone!Another week, another day. There has been so much that has happened recently but I'm gonna try my best to condense it.
First of all I got transferred out of Maltby. Elder Hutchins and I had a very good last week together in Maltby. We planned to go visit a friend but got promoted to not. So we went and he wasnt home. So we were driving around and knocked on a door to someone who had contact with missionaries in the past. Lets just say that is where we needed to be. The guy basically expressed that he felt distant from God. I expressed to him greatly that he is a child of God and that God loves him.
I have finally left the south end of the mission and I got transferred to a new zone. After 1 year in 1 zone I have entered new territory. I am now in the Mount Vernon zone in the North Cascades area. We cover a ward and also whats called a group and they have church at an airport. Lets just say I have never wanted to serve more than ever in my mission. I love the area so much and it is beyond beautiful.
North Cascades is the biggest area in the mission and basically goes up into kind of a canyon. The furthest we've driven is 1 hour into our area and it goes even further. I've seen so many eagles, hawks, swans, and even elk. I live in Sedro-Woolley.
There is so much work to be done here. There are so many uncontacted referrals and people who have so much potential. I've only met 3 people in our teaching pool out of I think 12. They are an older couple and a single older lady. Ray and Kathy are the couple and they love the missionaries. They are doing come follow me every week and Ray is basically a "dry member." He's even hinted he would like to get baptised one day.
Donna is the single lady and the only thing holding her back from baptism is being able to read the Book of Mormon. We were able to get a large print copy but she is sick. So we are waiting for her to get better.
As for my new comp, sorry I should have mentioned this sooner. My new comp is Elder Jones from Enoch, Utah. Since he is a farm/ranch guy, I can see why he is in this area with me. It literally fits him and I am glad to be comps with him.
We had a member text us if we would like a sectional couch for free and we said "say no more." lol. So now we have a sectional couch.
Spiritual thought:
3 Nephi 20:8 "And he said unto them: He that eateth this bread eateth of my body to his soul; and he that drinketh of this wine drinketh of my blood to his soul; and his soul shall never hunger nor thirst, but shall be filled." We had zone conference a few days ago and talked about the sacrament. Something I learned was that when the sacrament is on the table and under the cloth, it represents Jesus' body on the altar in the tomb. By partaking of the sacrament, we partake of his spirit. When we take the sacrament it is a reminder that he died for us. But not only that we renew our covenants we have made with God.
Love yall and have a fantastic week!!
